Lead Mobile Detailer — Ceramic Coatings, Paint Correction & Marine

Bring your detailing skills. Help build the next chapter of The Detail Reserve.

  • Punta Gorda / Port Charlotte
  • Base pay plus commission
  • Van, equipment & materials supplied

The role

A working lead role, not a desk job

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on professional who can deliver quality work, communicate clearly and take ownership of a mobile schedule. TDR supplies the work van, equipment, materials and business systems.

We're a growing company, and this role carries real responsibility. It isn't an entry-level wash position or an office-only management job.

Role and pay structure

What the job involves

What you'll do

  • Deliver agreed work safely and efficiently, within paint and product limits
  • Arrive at agreed times, plan routes, and tell customers early about foreseeable delays
  • Inspect and document condition, get approval for extra scope, explain care realistically, and report damage or callbacks right away
  • Answer and return business calls and texts during assigned working hours, safely (never while driving or running equipment)
  • Follow up inquiries professionally using the approved menu: no unapproved discounts, guarantees or price changes
  • Keep tools, inventory and the van clean, stocked and in good order
  • Use the company’s job-management and communication tools to document progress, photos, notes and completion status
  • Communicate clearly with the owner and team regarding job status, customer needs, scheduling and any issues that come up
  • Be comfortable learning the systems The Detail Reserve uses to keep jobs organized and customers updated

What we're looking for

Window tint is a plus, not a requirement. No degree or particular certification is required.

  • Independent, hands-on automotive detailing experience
  • Coating-compatible preparation and ceramic coating installation
  • Safe machine polishing and paint correction
  • Marine detailing and gelcoat oxidation work, within your proven skills
  • Clear, reliable communication with customers
  • A valid driver's license, and willingness to meet our vehicle insurer's driver requirements

What we provide

The van is for business use. Personal or take-home use isn't included.

  • Business-use access to the work van while working
  • Core detailing equipment and materials
  • Business phone and communication access
  • Company-provided digital tools for job notes, scheduling and communication, with training

Pay structure

Base pay plus commission, with required minimum-wage and overtime protections. The written compensation plan, schedule and commission terms are reviewed before employment.

  • Hours are discussed based on your availability and the work available; we don't promise a fixed full schedule
  • Skills assessments are paid
  • Benefits aren't promised until confirmed in writing

Where you'll work

Field work based in Punta Gorda / Port Charlotte, across nearby areas such as North Port, Englewood and Venice. Longer trips are discussed and approved separately.

How we work

  • Use company-provided digital tools for job notes, scheduling and communication
  • Document each job with photos and completion notes
  • The company van may use GPS for safety and dispatch, under a written policy

What we expect

The Detail Reserve Standard

Every job is held to the same standard: on time, done carefully and clearly communicated.

Agreed scope

We confirm what's included and the price before work starts. Anything extra is done only with your OK.

Suitable preparation

Every surface gets the cleaning and preparation its product needs. No shortcuts to save time.

Care for your vehicle

Methods and products matched to the surface, and anything we notice is reported to you right away.

Clear communication

Arrival windows, delays and care instructions explained clearly, by text, call or email.

Documented quality checks

Condition noted before we start and a final check before we finish, with photos where useful.
